Our Story

Nikani Foundation was born from a deep passion for uplifting underserved communities. Our founder, Rhandzu Mabunda, grew up in Bushbuckridge, where many children face limited opportunities and lack the financial means to meet even their most basic needs. Having witnessed these challenges first-hand, Rhandzu was determined to make a difference - a calling she believes was placed in her heart by God.

In 2021, she reached out to Sandi Mdluli, who shared the same vision for community development and empowerment. Together, they connected with a local social worker from a children’s home in Thulamahashe to explore how they could offer meaningful support. This collaboration marked the beginning of Nikani Foundation.

What started as a small initiative to assist vulnerable children has grown into a broader mission - to transform underserved communities through education outreach and empowerment. Nikani aims to ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to knowledge, guidance, and opportunities to thrive.
